In short (updated October 2026): Air Suvidha is mandatory again. Since 25 June 2026, every international passenger arriving in India must complete the online health self-declaration Air Suvidha 2.0 (Self Declaration Form, SDF) at airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in before immigration clearance. It asks for your 21-day travel history, exposure history and any symptoms, and was introduced because of the Ebola (Bundibugyo virus) outbreak in the DR Congo and Uganda. Foreign visitors also still need a visa (for example the Indian e-Visa) and the India e-Arrival Card.
What is the Air Suvidha self declaration form?
Air Suvidha 2.0 is India’s upgraded, fully contactless passenger health self-declaration portal. It was launched on 25 June 2026 by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), developed together with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The launch followed the World Health Organization’s declaration of 17 May 2026 that the Bundibugyo virus disease (Ebola) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Neighbouring countries, including South Sudan, are assessed as high-risk. Data from the form is shared in real time with the Airport Health Officer, the Bureau of Immigration and India’s disease surveillance teams, so at-risk travellers can be identified quickly.
Air Suvidha 2.0 is not the old COVID form. The original Air Suvidha portal (2020–2023) collected vaccination certificates and RT-PCR results; it was dropped in November 2022, briefly used again for arrivals from six Asian countries in early 2023 and then withdrawn. Today there is no COVID test, vaccination or quarantine requirement for India – only the Ebola-related health declaration.
Who needs to fill in Air Suvidha?
The self-declaration is mandatory for all international arriving passengers, whatever their nationality and wherever they fly from. It also applies to Indian citizens and to travellers who have never been near the affected countries. Airlines in the Gulf, Europe and elsewhere remind passengers at check-in, and immigration may ask for the confirmation on arrival.

How to fill the Air Suvidha form (step by step)
- Open the official portal airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in, or scan the QR code given by your airline at booking or check-in.
- Enter your passport details, flight number, arrival date and contact details, then verify your mobile number with the one-time password (OTP).
- Answer the health questions: where you have been in the last 21 days (including the DR Congo, Uganda or South Sudan), any contact with Ebola cases and any symptoms. If none applies, select “none of the above”.
- Submit the form and save the confirmation (PDF or screenshot). You will usually also receive it by e-mail.
Other documents you need for India
Air Suvidha is a health declaration only. It does not replace a visa or the arrival card. Foreign visitors also need:
- A visa – for most tourists the Indian e-Visa, applied for online at indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa before travel.
- The India e-Arrival Card – a free electronic arrival card from the Bureau of Immigration (indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival) that replaces the paper disembarkation card for foreign nationals.
- A valid passport, plus your return or onward ticket.
So a typical tourist flying to India in 2026 completes three things: the e-Visa (days or weeks before), the e-Arrival Card and the Air Suvidha 2.0 health declaration (shortly before the flight).
After you submit the form
Show the downloaded SDF confirmation at the International Travel Health Desk or at the immigration counter when you land. There are no paper health forms to fill in on arrival. The declaration covers the trip you entered; for every new arrival in India you submit a new one.
